This park in the Rancho San Diego area of El Cajon is my go-to spot for photo sessions that need to happen earlier than my usual 1-hour before sunset standard start time. The sun setting behind the giant eucalyptus trees in this grove creates beautiful, sparkly back-light all afternoon. The big rocks are fun for kids to climb on, and it’s a nice quiet spot without a lot of distractions for little ones.
